Ceramic Dining Tables

Ceramic dining table: a durable top for everyday family meals

A ceramic dining table uses a sintered stone top, made by fusing minerals under heat and pressure. The result is a hard, non-porous surface designed for daily family life. Our ceramic dining tables come in fixed and extending formats, in grey, white and black.

The range covers tables for four to eight people, with sizes stated in each product name. You can complete the room with chairs, sideboards and storage from our range of home furniture. Check each product page to see exactly what is included in the order.

Why choose a ceramic dining table?

The main reason to buy a ceramic dining table is resistance. Sintered stone is designed to resist heat, moisture and everyday stains, and it wipes clean with a damp cloth.

Here is a common situation. A family eats breakfast, does homework and hosts dinners at the same table. Compared with some wooden finishes, a ceramic top dining table offers greater resistance to everyday stains and marks, making it a practical choice for busy households.

The trade-off is weight. A sintered stone top is heavy, so plan for two people at delivery. Choose its final position before unpacking it, so you move it as little as possible. To compare every material side by side, view all dining tables.

Fixed or extending: choosing the format

The Verona ceramic dining table comes as a fixed model in two sizes, both with a grey top. The 150cm version is listed as a 4-6 seater, and the 180cm version as a 6-8 seater. In practice, the 150cm model suits a kitchen-diner, while the 180cm model suits a separate dining room. Allow around 90cm behind each chair so people can stand up without bumping the wall.

If your guest numbers change, an extending model makes more sense. The Verona extends from 160cm to 200cm in grey, white or black. The Bergamo extends from 180cm to 260cm and has a white marble effect top with looped black legs.

A ceramic dining table that extends gives you both benefits: a durable surface and flexible seating. To see every model with this function, browse our extending dining table collection. Measure the room for the open length before ordering.

Colours and finishes

A grey ceramic dining table is the most adaptable choice. It suits oak floors, white kitchens and dark cabinetry alike. The Verona offers grey in every format, fixed or extending.

A white ceramic dining table reflects light and makes a small dining area feel larger. The white Verona has a plain finish, while the Bergamo adds marble effect veining. Both work well in Scandinavian or modern interiors.

For contrast, a black ceramic dining table anchors an open-plan room. The black Verona extending model pairs well with white, grey or velvet chairs. A dark dining table in ceramic is also a good match for kitchens with pale units.

Creating a ceramic dining set

A ceramic dining table and chairs combination should match in practicality. Faux leather chairs wipe clean as easily as the table top. Velvet chairs add softness but need more care around food. Match the leg colour of the chairs to the table base for a coordinated look. Black metal legs, for example, echo the looped base of the Bergamo.

Most households build a ceramic dining table set by choosing chairs in fours or sixes. Our dining chairs sold in sets of 4 suit the fixed 150cm Verona. Add two more chairs when you open an extending model.

Frequently asked questions

Does a ceramic table scratch?

Sintered stone is a hard surface made for everyday use. Avoid dragging ceramic dishes or metal objects across it, as grit can still mark any surface.

How do I clean a ceramic top?

Use a damp cloth with warm water and a little washing-up liquid. Dry the surface for a streak-free finish. A dining table with a ceramic top does not need oil or wax.

Is a ceramic table suitable for a dining room?

Yes. A ceramic dining room table suits formal dining as well as kitchens. Marble effect tops such as the Bergamo give a more decorative look for dining rooms.

Can I put a round ceramic table in a small space?

This collection focuses on rectangular tables. For a compact shape, see our round dining table range in glass, marble effect and wood veneer.

Are chairs included with the table?

The tables in this collection are sold on their own. Check the product page of each model, which lists what the order includes, then choose chairs by quantity, colour and fabric.
